Job summary

NaphCare is seeking a Medical Director at Limestone Correctional Facility in Harvest, AL to oversee clinical care and ensure quality services. You will lead rounds and work with correctional officers and other medical professionals.

The role emphasizes direct/indirect medical care, compliance with state and federal mandates, and leadership of the medical team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) required.
• Active medical license in Alabama.
• BLs CPR Certification (AHA preferred) required.
• Active DEA registration.
• Board certification in Family or Internal Medicine.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in general medicine and current medical knowledge.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Ability to interact with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Integrity and professionalism; compliance with policies.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect basic medical care to meet patients' needs.
• Conduct rounds in medical and infirmary units.
• Perform sick calls and manage chronic care.
• Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies.
• Lead efforts to evaluate healthcare quality and effectiveness.
• Coordinate and participate in staff education and training.
• Possibly supervise Staff Physicians and other medical staff.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal mandates and regulations.
