Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse for a full-time role in a correctional care setting in Texas. The position requires a Texas LVN license and CPR certification, with new grads able to apply and NCLEX-PN must be passed on first attempt.

You will administer medications, monitor patients, document care in the EHR, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, quality care in a secure environment.

Qualifications

Current Vocational Nurse License in Texas or ability to transfer license.
Current CPR certification.
Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program.
New graduates must pass the NCLEX-PN on the first attempt.
No experience required.

Responsibilities

Administer medications and monitor patient conditions.
Clinical observations and report changes to care plans.
Prepare and operate essential medical equipment for procedures.
Document patient assessments and medication administration in the EHR.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and correctional staff for coordinated care.
Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, safety standards and regulations.
Assist in medical emergencies, triaging patients and providing immediate care.
