Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care given.
• Performs admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
• Uses the nursing plan of care in daily assignments, reviews and may modify the plan under supervision.
• Observes and records signs, symptoms and patient status to propose interventions and outcomes.
• Delivers designated nursing interventions per the physician's orders.
• Notifies nursing/medical staff of changes in patient status; coordinates with multidisciplinary plans.
• Follows physician orders and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Administers medications and treatments safely and properly.
• Assembles equipment for procedures and assists with them.
• Adheres to infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Documents nursing care in patient records.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structures.
• Performs related duties as required.
