Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Lieutenant II (S) for Albemarle Correctional Institution in Badin, NC. This full-time role supports a Division of Institutions and involves shift supervision, investigations, training coordination, and post oversight in a secure prison setting.

Ideal candidates will have supervisory experience in a prison facility, knowledge of policies and procedures, and strong report-writing skills.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• High School diploma or GED required; additional education considered.
• Criminal background check, drug screen, medical and psychological evaluations, and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subordinate staff and conduct shift line-up and assignments.
• Perform investigations and searches of persons, places, and objects.
• Maintain time reports, duty rosters, leaves, performance evaluations, and administrative forms.
• Perform security inspections of the facility and grounds and monitor posts for readiness.
• Provide training needs identification and coordinate delivery of training to staff.
• Account for persons and funds and ensure equipment readiness.
• Serve as Officer-In-Charge in the absence of the Correctional Captain II.
