Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Sergeant I (S) to supervise subordinate officers in a male offender facility with minimum/medium/close custody levels. You will assign posts, conduct line-ups, and ensure operational readiness of equipment and funds.

You will complete time reports, leave schedules, evaluations, and related administrative forms while working rotating shifts on state benefits. Candidates meeting minimum qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience as a corrections officer required.
• Criminal background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subordinate officers and assign posts.
• Conduct shift line-up and assess officers' fitness for duty.
• Complete and maintain time reports, duty rosters, and evaluations.
• Ensure custody and welfare of offenders and equipment readiness.
• Manage rotating shifts and various duty assignments.
