Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking a Media Generalist II to manage day-to-day operation of correctional and related libraries, including inmate contact and security responsibilities. The role supports library services across multiple facilities and requires strong oversight and coordination.

Minimum qualifications include a 4-year education/experience mix after high school, a supervisory position, and certification eligibility.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after high school.
• 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
• Must pass security and background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision, training, and education to DOC library staff and inmate workers in all library phases.
• Delivers services to inmates in restricted housing units to ensure access to information.
• Oversees selection and purchasing of legal materials to comply with court guidelines.
• EDUCATES inmates and maintains accurate circulation, cataloging, and inventory records.
• Manages daily scheduling of inmate library use to optimize space and time.
• Performs duties per Corrections Academy requirements and supports high school equivalency instruction.
