Job summary

MEDIKO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver direct patient care in a correctional setting. The role includes assessments, medication administration, treatments, and emergency response, with collaboration across medical teams to implement patient care plans in compliance with regulations.

You will educate inmates, monitor progress, and contribute to a safe, compliant healthcare environment while participating in quality and documentation efforts within EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state RN licensure in applicable state(s).
• Active CPR/BLS certification required per American Heart Association/Red Cross guidelines.
• 1–3 years of direct patient care experience, preferably in correctional healthcare or regulated setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care per policies.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Educate inmates on health conditions and management of care.
• Document assessments and progress in EMR as required by policies and law.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and safety.
• Lead nursing activities in absence of management and supervise LPNs and aides.
