Job summary

MEDIKO is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a correctional setting at Accomack County Jail, VA. You will perform assessments, administer medications, and participate in care planning with the healthcare team.

You will educate inmates on health conditions, monitor progress, document in the EMR, and ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control, and state regulations. This role requires flexible shifts and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state RN license
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience (prefer correctional)
• Active CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care: assessments, meds, treatments, emergencies.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Document patient progress in EMR per policies and regulations.
• Educate inmates on health conditions and post-care instructions.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies.
