Job summary

MEDIKO is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a correctional setting. You will administer medications, educate inmates on health conditions, and collaborate with physicians and mental health professionals to implement care plans.

You will document assessments and treatments in the EMR, maintain infection control standards, and respond to emergencies. Leadership duties may be required in supervisor's absence, with a focus on quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• Active state licensure and credentials to practice nursing.
• High School diploma or GED required; associate/bachelor preferred but not required.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a correctional setting.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations in correctional settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in correctional settings per policies.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders.
• Educate patients on health conditions and care plans.
• Document care in EMR according to policy.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver care.
• Ensure infection control and safety standards.
• Respond to medical emergencies and traumas.
• Lead nursing team in absence of management.
