Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to manage inmate meal operations, training, and staff supervision in the cafeteria environment. You will ensure compliance with health and safety standards and coordinate with inmate committees to resolve issues.

Four weeks of SCDC basic training are required on hire, with certification and supervisory training to follow. Prior supervisory experience is preferred and equal opportunity employment is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity and quality cooking.
• ServSafe manager certification or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Oversees inmate food service employees and cafeteria operations.
• Trains and directs cooks, bakers, kitchen and dining staff in all duties.
• supervises daily tasks and maintains security of cafeteria.
• Coordinates with inmate representative committee to resolve problems and complaints.
• Prepares and verifies weekly food orders and deliveries.
• Ensures compliance with health, fire, and OSHA inspections.
• Maintains maintenance/repair of cafeteria equipment.
• Completes SCDC basic training upon hire and supervisory courses within 18 months.
