The NC Department of Adult Correction in Raleigh, NC seeks a classification counselor to conduct regular reviews, needs assessments, plans, job assignments, and referrals, providing correctional and motivational counseling to offenders. You will assist with transitional information, housing recommendations, and classification decisions while communicating with staff, offenders, and the public.

This is a full-time role with standard hours 8am-5pm, Monday–Friday, and may require extended hours as

Competenze

• Knowledge of case management practices and intake interviewing techniques.
• Ability to work with incarcerated individuals and under stress.

Mansioni

• Perform periodic classification reviews, needs assessments, plans, job assignments, and counseling.
• Provide transitional information, housing recommendations, and classification guidance.
• Communicate effectively with staff, offenders, and the public.
• Prepare written reports reflecting data and observations.
• Conduct crisis interventions including suicide prevention.
