Job summary

The State of North Carolina's Adult Correction agency is seeking a Correctional Case Manager to oversee a caseload at a minimum custody female facility. You will provide supportive counseling, assess offender needs, develop case plans, and coordinate with the classifications committee.

You will communicate with staff, offenders, and the public under stressful conditions, perform crisis interventions, and assist with major rehabilitation programs and transition planning.

Qualifications

• Documented knowledge of case management practices or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.
• Ability to document and track offender progress and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent communication with staff, offenders, and the public under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Providing supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answering and following-up on offenders’ questions and concerns as well as making recommendations to the classifications committee.
• Communicating effectively with other staff, offenders and the general public and working under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders, who can become physically violent and verbally abusive.
• Performing crisis interventions to include suicide prevention.
• Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinate major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education or recreation, as well as transition planning and coordinating.
• Preparing written reports with accurately reflect date reviewed by various sources, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating various documents and behavior data gathered form interviews, written documentation and personal observation.

GED or high school diploma + 2 years custody experience
