Job summary

Centurion is hiring a full-time Behavioral Health Technician at Hill Correctional Center in Galesburg, IL. The role supports mental health services for inmates and participates in treatment planning, ensuring daily living activities and therapeutic programs run smoothly.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 12:00pm–8:00pm with a bachelor's degree in social science and applicable CPR/AED certification. This position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within the correctional health

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science is required.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients with serious mental illness preferred.
• Competencies with Excel sufficient to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases.
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.
• Must pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implement interventions for patients in a correctional mental health/healthcare setting.
• Provide therapeutic support services, including treatment focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities; educate patients in activities of daily living.
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to mental health treatment and scheduling of patients.
• Support operation of telepsychiatry services.
• Perform duties as assigned by leadership and Centurion policy and procedures.
