Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician at the Graham Correctional Facility near Hillsboro, IL, to support inmates with mental health services. A Bachelor's degree in a social science is required, with 2+ years of experience in activities programming for patients with serious mental illness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Social Science is required.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients with a serious mental illness preferred.
• Competencies with Excel sufficient to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases.
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Participates in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implements interventions for patients.
• Provides therapeutic support services, including treatment-focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities.
• Assists in preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to mental health treatment and scheduling of patients, including telepsychiatry support.

We are currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Graham Correctional Facility located in Hillsboro, IL.

The Behavioral Health Technician participates in weekly multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings and implements interventions for patients in a correctional mental health/healthcare setting. Behavioral Health Technician responsibilities include providing therapeutic support services, including treatment focused programming, psychosocial groups, crisis management, social rehabilitation, and leisure activities, as well as providing formal education to patients in routine activities of daily living (hygiene, eating, recreation, etc.). Behavioral Health Technicians, also assist in the preparation and maintenance of records and data management pertaining to the mental health treatment and scheduling of patients. This includes providing support for the operation of telepsychiatry services. Performs all duties as assigned by leadership and as directed by Centurion policy and procedure, as well as IDOC Directives, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday; 8:00am to 4:00pm

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science required
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients who have a serious mental illness preferred
• Competencies with Excel sufficient to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
