Job summary

Centurion Health seeks a Behavioral Health Technician at Sheridan Correctional Center in Sheridan, IL. This full-time role supports mental health services in a correctional setting with a day shift (8am-4pm), Monday through Friday.

You will participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning, provide therapeutic support, run psychosocial groups, manage crises, and assist with telepsychiatry operations. Centurion offers comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science required.
• Two years or more experience providing activities programming for patients with serious mental illness preferred.
• Competencies with Excel sufficient to create, maintain, and update scheduling databases.
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR/AED certification.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic support services and treatment-focused programming.
• Lead psychosocial groups and leisure activities.
• Assist in recordkeeping and data management for mental health treatment.
• Support telepsychiatry operations.
• Contribute to daily living education for patients.
