Corporate Human Resources Manager (Finance)

The salary range posted represents the low and high end of OSI's salary range for this position. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience, and performance. Base salary is one component of OSI's overall total rewards package. Other components may include bonuses, special pay programs, comprehensive time off, 401k with match, and a full suite of benefit offerings for you and your family.

This role's responsibility as a Human Resource subject matter expert is to support both corporate team members and the North America facility Human Resource teams regarding the interpretation and expertise within HR policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and other established Company practices and procedures. The Corporate HR Manager will be the primary owner of the Company's Employee Relations case management system by either leading direction or conducting investigations. This role partners with facility HR Managers to identify, analyze, and develop strategic solutions to team member related business issues.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
  2. Subject matter expert on the interpretation and application of established employment policies, procedures, and practices; identify opportunities for change and make appropriate recommendations or draft proposed improvements on HR policies and procedures.
  3. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with corporate and facility HR staff as well as line management.
  4. Work collaboratively to resolve team member issues that arise due to policy interpretations, procedural issues, job performance concerns, time off matters, harassment concerns, and other related issues.
  5. Investigate employee complaints thoroughly and timely; interview complainants and witnesses, review records, document activities, evaluate validity of statements, recommend action, and respond to complainants with conclusions.
  6. Manage and lead HR compliance for background/drug screen and I-9 governance.
  7. Lead and collaborate with facility HR teams on HR compliance initiatives including unemployment, WOTC, verifications, and I-9 audits.
  8. Provide routine and ad hoc reports and analysis to HR leadership and facility HR staff on employment and labor trends, investigation statuses, contingent labor, employment status, talent management programs, and other issues.
  9. Administer, support, and analyze talent management programs and HR initiatives to ensure adherence to standards and consistency.
  10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and recommend policy changes for compliance.
  11. Understand and practice safety procedures through education, training, and adherence to policies.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

  1. 5-10 years of relevant experience preferred.
  2. 5 years of HR Business partner/Manager experience in manufacturing preferred.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Strong knowledge of HR disciplines, including benefits, employee relations, and talent management.
  5. Experience in a unionized environment with understanding of collective bargaining agreements.
  6. Proactive problem-solving skills and confidentiality.
  7. Ability to influence and build relationships.
  8. Effective communication skills and project management abilities.
  9. Knowledge of employment law.
  10. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Education

  1. BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
  2. HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) is a plus.

Work Environment

  1. Office and plant environment with standard equipment.
  2. Requires 30% domestic travel.
  3. Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds and perform related physical activities.
