Position Summary

The Corporate Financial Controller is a key leadership role responsible for directing all accounting and financial operations of the company. This individual will oversee the accounting team, ensure compliance with GAAP, and lead all financial planning, reporting, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Ensure day-to-day accounting operations run smoothly and adhere to GAAP.
• Oversee general ledger accuracy, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage the full financial close process (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Direct all accounting activities including A/P, A/R, payroll, and cash flow management.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and present to the CEO, Board, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
• Analyze variances, report trends, and provide insight into financial performance.

Strategic Financial Leadership

• Provide strategic direction for the financial health and stability of the organization.
• Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, partnering across departments to drive success.
• Lead development of financial strategies, long-term planning, projections, and budgeting.
• Establish policies and procedures for sound financial decision-making.
• Lead, coach, and mentor the accounting team; build a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Encourage innovation and continuous improvement.

Controls, Compliance, and Audits

• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Manage the annual external audit and coordinate annual tax filings.
• Serve as the technical expert on accounting matters for the organization.

Cost Management & Special Projects

• Identify cost reduction opportunities and process efficiencies.
• Oversee cost accounting and sales tax projects.
• Lead system implementations/upgrades and define key financial KPIs.
• Maintain all business insurance policies and serve as the bank liaison.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required;
• Manufacturing industry experience is required
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience with strong knowledge of inventory and costing
• MBA and/or CPA certification preferred
• Minimum 4+ years of team leadership experience
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred
• Expert knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects
• High integrity, strong work ethic, and self-motivated
