Job summary

Amazon’s Legal Department is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to support AWS, working with engineering, supply chain, and procurement teams on a wide range of technology and commercial transactions. The role focuses on counseling, negotiations, IP hygiene, vendor engagement, and mentoring teams on governance and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has a JD, 2+ years of legal experience in transactional work, and the ability to manage multiple complex deals globally.

Qualifications

2+ years of legal experience.
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
Experience in transactional work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Providing business-line counseling to infrastructure engineering and supply chain teams to enable the development, manufacture, deployment, and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure technology globally for our customers.
Structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial and technology-related agreements, including development, supply, manufacturing services, software licensing, services, and other bespoke agreements.
Supporting and directly advising business partners on legal, commercial, operational, and other risks.
Developing, advising on, and implementing with the business vendor engagement, contractual, and negotiation strategies.
Collaborating cross-functionally to identify and resolve commercial, operational, compliance, regulatory, security, safety, legal, and customer/vendor issues.
