Job summary

MCHAP is seeking chaplains to serve as frontline staff, fulfilling the Christian ministry for employees and their families. Chaplains will visit worksites weekly, provide confidential pastoral discussions, and support families during crises and bereavement.

Applicants should demonstrate spiritual maturity, the ability to interact across diverse groups with diplomacy, and strong listening and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting.
• Ability to listen and interact with clients, employees, and families; deliver community presentations.
• Skilled in handling stressful situations and documenting accurately to standards.
• Demonstrated spiritual maturity and Christian lifestyle aligned with ministry values.
• Professional diplomacy, patience, and courtesy with diverse groups; maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent oral and written communication with leadership, colleagues, employees, and families.
• Proficient in interpreting policy and procedures related to the position.
• Proficient with Google Suites or Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Visit company worksites regularly (typically weekly) to build trust and relationships.
• Provide confidential pastoral discussions for employees and immediate family members.
• Assist in planning, conducting, or attending funerals and providing post-loss support.
• Support notifications of death and serious injuries to families and employees.
• Coordinate or refer to specialized assistance for employees with specific needs.
• Participate in new employee orientation to explain Employee Care Service and Chaplain role.
