Job summary

BMO Capital Markets in Chicago is seeking an Associate to join the US Diversified Corporate & Leveraged Banking group. You will support underwriting, credit approval, and portfolio management, analyzing financial data and industry trends to assess risk and opportunity across revolvers and term loans.

The role involves screening transactions, due diligence, negotiating documentation, preparing credit analyses, and collaborating with Leveraged Finance and coverage teams.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree with coursework in finance, economics, or accounting.
• 3–4 years of relevant experience within investment banking, corporate banking, corporate credit, commercial banking or capital markets.
• Completion of a financial analysis training program preferable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze historical financial performance and develop base and stress financial projections.
• Lead diligence calls with management teams and other lenders.
• Prepare risk/return models for new deals and extensions.
• Collaborate with Leveraged Finance and other groups to evaluate credit risk.
• Support client pitches and cross-selling opportunities for traditional corporate banking products.
• Review borrowers' quarterly financials and monitor performance.
• Assess internal risk ratings based on financials and qualitative factors.
