Wonder, a mealtime platform, seeks a Director of Accounting to lead financial closes for multiple units under US GAAP, strengthen internal controls, and partner with Engineering/Product on scalable data needs. The role oversees payroll, SaaS payments, and intercompany consolidations, while driving automation and efficiency across ERP ecosystems.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in accounting, 4+ in leadership, and a CPA, with deep knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and complex vendor contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with 4+ years in leadership.
• Experience in high-growth environments, corporate integration, or public accounting is valued.
• Deep understanding of US GAAP, corporate consolidations, and SOX.
• Strong grasp of payroll mechanics, vendor accruals, and capitalized software guidelines.
• High level of competency with large data sets, query tools, and automation software.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, close management software like FloQast, procurement platforms like ZIP, and forecasting tools like Anaplan.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end corporate close for assigned units under US GAAP.
• Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing corporate accounting team.
• Strengthen SOX-compliant internal controls over financial reporting workflows.
• Partner with Engineering and Product to set accounting/data requirements for new features.
• Oversee payroll accounting operations and automate HRIS/payroll-ERP integrations.
• Manage SaaS subscriptions, prepayments, and complex vendor contracts.
• Own intercompany accounting and cross-entity consolidations with strict policies.
