Westlake Services, LLC, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a financially analytical Accountant to manage daily cash analysis, month-end close, and cross-functional collaboration across Treasury, Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology. You will leverage SQL, Excel, and AI tools to streamline processes and drive insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1–3 years of general, corporate, or public accounting experience; internships may be considered.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting concepts; desire to continue developing technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills with lookups, PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis; Power Query is a plus.
• Basic SQL knowledge or willingness to learn to query, analyze, and validate financial data.
• Experience with ERP systems, reconciliation tools, banking platforms, or financial reporting systems preferred.
• Comfort using AI-enabled productivity tools to support research, analysis, documentation, and process improvement.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze daily cash balances and support treasury and cash management activities.
• Prepare month-end journal entries, supporting schedules, and account analyses.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate reconciling items.
• Perform financial statement fluctuation analysis and explain drivers behind results.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Validate data across GL, bank platforms, subledgers, and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology teams to resolve issues.
• Assist with supporting schedules for audits and compliance requests.
• Participate in system implementations, data validation, and workflow redesign.
• Use Excel, SQL, AI tools, and automation to reduce manual work and build scalable processes.
