Job summary

Westlake Services, LLC seeks a Senior Accountant to ensure GAAP compliance, assist in monthly closing, and support audits. The role focuses on technical accounting research and automation to improve efficiency and controls.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage intercompany activities, and help implement automated reporting while maintaining accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• 3+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP for monthly and year-end reporting.
• Assist in the external audit and coordinate with the teams to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and related financial reporting activities.
• Support intercompany transactions, consolidations, financial statement presentation, and disclosure requirements.
• Analyze financial statement results, identify trends and significant fluctuations, and explain key variances.
• Support technical accounting initiatives, researching accounting guidance and new accounting standards to determine potential impact on current accounting treatment and prepare memos documenting the research and conclusions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate new business activities and recommend accounting appropriate accounting treatments in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency through automation, AI-enabled tools, and other emerging technologies.
• Support the development and implementation of automated reporting and analytical solutions to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting processes.
• Complete ad-hoc projects and analysis as determined by internal management
