Westlake Financial Services, the largest privately held auto finance company in the United States, is seeking an Accounting Operations Accountant in Los Angeles, CA (in office). You will handle month-end entries, reconciliations, cash management, and process improvements in a data-driven environment.

The role emphasizes GAAP compliance, cross-functional collaboration, and implementing automation to scale financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 1–3 years of general accounting or related experience; internships may be considered.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting concepts; desire to advance technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills with lookups, PivotTables, formulas, data analysis, and data manipulation; Power Query is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journal entries, schedules, and account analyses across cash, loan receivables, accruals, payments, and funding.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate reconciling items to resolve issues.
• Maintain daily cash balances and support treasury and cash management activities.
• Support month-end close with prepared deliverables and clear issue documentation.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology to resolve accounting issues.
