Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a Core Processing Specialist to manage Commercial loan processing, data validation, and system testing.

You will interpret loan documents, book loans, and support cross‑functional projects while handling confidential information with precision. The role requires the ability to analyze complex loan files, ensure collateral terms are correctly identified, and collaborate with Loan Officers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and detail-management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products with working knowledge in Excel.
• Must be able to work with a significant amount of detailed information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with Loan Officers, Loan Processors, management, other bank departments, and vendors.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills within established procedures and authority.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets legal loan documents for Commercial loans and accurately books the loans to the core system.
• Independently analyzes complex loan documentation to set up and fund loan accounts while adhering to bank standards and loan policy.
• Exports of new and renewed loans onto the Core in an accurate and timely manner.
• Review files and disburses loan proceeds for Loan Officers and Customers while handling confidential material.
• Analyzes loan documents to identify collateral terms and structures for loans and cross-collateralization as needed.
• Responsible for remote printing loan disbursement cashier checks via Teller software to branches.
• Clears transactions within assigned general ledger accounts.
• Uploads processor records into our imaging system and gathers loan documents for servicing follow up.
• Supports all departmental functions and ensures objectives are achieved with accurate loan bookings.
• Performs authorized mass maintenance within the loan portfolio per procedures and controls.
• Contributes to cross-functional projects including testing new processes and data reporting.
• Attends training on applicable subjects and participates in cross-functional initiatives.
