Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a Credit Analyst to conduct in-depth analyses of commercial and agricultural loan relationships, and perform financial statement reviews to assess repayment capacity.

You will prepare professional credit presentations, monitor loan requests, and support training and evaluation of analysts while building strong relationships with loan officers and borrowers. The role emphasizes accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis or banking.
• Formal advanced training in Microsoft Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform credit analyses and financial statement reviews of complex loans, industries, and commercial and ag loan relationships.
• Create professional credit presentations that summarize borrower’s complex financial condition and evaluate repayment capacity and collateral coverage. Make recommendations, tied to analysis, to loan officers and/or loan committee.
• Monitor loan requests and assign risk ratings that are based on established written lending policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Research industry specific information from outside sources and provide analysis.
• Investigate all available sources of credit and financial information, including credit bureaus, Experian Business Credit, the Risk Management Association, industry trends and other companies.
• Assist with training of less tenured analysts.
• Review work of analysts and provide feedback.
• Meet with commercial customers of the Bank on a scheduled basis in conjunction with the loan officers to foster relationships and enhance the Bank’s understanding of credits.
• Support other segments of Credit Analysis as assigned, such as miscellaneous loan or credit related reporting, tracking, and monitoring.
• Participate in credit-related projects and complete training associated with job function.
