Job summary

The Core Laboratory Manager at Care New England Health System provides scientific and technical oversight for laboratory operations, ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, and promotes performance improvement activities. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, 3–5 years in chemistry/hematology, and at least 2 years of management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Required; field of study: biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical chemistry and/or clinical hematology experience.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience; core lab management experience preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency.
• Thorough knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, quality assurance practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership and staff management skills, with the ability to develop, motivate, and evaluate personnel.
• Ability to manage departmental budgets, resources, equipment, and supplies effectively.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build collaborative working relationships.
• Ability to lead performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive patient information.
