Rent the Runway is hiring a Copywriter to join the Design Team and help shape the language across email, site, and campaigns. You’ll partner with product and brand designers to produce compelling, on-brand copy for multiple channels while maintaining consistency with our established tone.
You’ll need 3+ years in brand copywriting, a portfolio of strategic work, and comfort with feedback in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Figma and an interest in fashion trends will help you excel.
Rent the Runway (RTR) is transforming the way we get dressed by pioneering the world’s first Closet in the Cloud. Founded in 2009, RTR has disrupted the $2.4 trillion fashion industry by inspiring women with a more joyful, sustainable and financially-savvy way to feel their best every day. As the ultimate destination for circular fashion, the brand now offers infinite points of access to its shared closet via a fully customizable subscription to fashion, one-time rental or ownership. RTR offers designer apparel and accessories from 700+ brand partners and has built in-house proprietary technology and a one-of-a-kind reverse logistics operation. RTR has been named to CNBC’s “Disruptor 50” five times in ten years, and has been placed on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list multiple times.
As a Copywriter, you will join the Design Team and work under the Senior Director, Design as well as work with another in-house copywriter to create creative and strategic copy across channels. As a fundamental problem solver and wordsmith, you will collaborate with product and brand designers across email, site, paid, promotional materials, and campaigns, while brainstorming new ways in through language and messaging. You are tuned-in to pop culture, current fashion trends, and have your own opinions on the Oxford comma (we have ours, but we’ll chat more about this in the interview). Your copy style has a natural voice, and you can flex different tones and personalities within that voice when asked. You welcome feedback that is constructive and respectful, and you’re comfortable sharing your own. You enjoy fast-paced environments, can expertly prioritize tasks and, perhaps most importantly, can ask for help when you need it.
