Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking a Pathology Support Coordinator to provide operational support to pathologists and the anatomic pathology team, coordinating case workflow from accession through final reporting.

You will handle case distribution, external consults, material tracking, and documentation in laboratory information systems, ensuring timely, compliant handling and strong communication with clinicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Education, Experience or Equivalency: Associate degree in biology, healthcare, or related field, or equivalent combination.
• Experience with computer systems and applications; ability to work in fast-paced environment; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate case workflow from accession through final reporting.
• Distribute pathology cases and coordinate external consults and specialized testing.
• Track materials and document in laboratory information systems.
• Facilitate communication between pathologists, laboratory staff, and clinical teams.

Position Summary

Provides operational support to pathologists and the anatomic pathology team by coordinating case workflow from accession through final reporting.

This role is responsible for pathology case distribution, coordination of external consults and specialized testing, material tracking, and documentation within laboratory information systems. The Pathology Support Coordinator ensures accurate, timely, and compliant handling of pathology materials and supports efficient communication between pathologists, laboratory staff, and clinical teams.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• 7:00am-3:30pm

Required Qualifications

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination
  • Associate degree in biology, healthcare, or related field
  • OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience working with computer systems and applications
  • Ability to manage work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
