Job summary

Park Nicollet is hiring a Pathology Technician to join our team. This position performs pre-analytic specimen receiving, processing and related pathology laboratory specimen support duties in accordance with laboratory procedures.

Five or more years in an anatomic pathology laboratory and a high school diploma are required; an associate degree in medical laboratory technology or health science is preferred. Knowledge of laboratory systems and histology/cytology processing is expected.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

• Five or more years working in an anatomic pathology laboratory
• High School diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Laboratory Information System, Microsoft Office (including e-mail and calendar), personal computer, bar-code scanner, telephone, copier, FAX machine, personal Protective Equipment (including N95 or PAPR), safety hood, laboratory instrumentation for routine histology & cytology processing as appropriate, automated specimen processors, staining equipment, cover slippers, embedding center, microtome, cryostat, centrifuge, microscope, solvent recyclers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

• Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or other Health Science Program
