Job summary

Theta Phi Alpha in Ohio is seeking a Coordinator of Programming & Membership Engagement to provide administrative, program development, and training support for national Greek-letter organization initiatives. The role supports volunteer management and membership retention.

You will help plan educational programs, develop curricula, coordinate volunteers, maintain materials, market events, and track feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of Greek-lettered organizations, operations and issues.
  • Strong PC proficiency and MS Office skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to travel as needed for educational events and work non-traditional hours.
  • Ability to work with National Officers and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing timelines and schedules for annual educational programs.
  • Develop curricula for annual educational programs.
  • Provide logistical and training support for volunteers, speakers, coordinators, and facilitators.
  • Ensure educational materials are current and properly distributed.
  • Assist in selecting volunteers to facilitate programs.
  • Serve as on-site coordinator for educational programs.
  • Market events and provide information before, during, and after each event.
  • Develop chapter programs for Officers and Members.
  • Manage program feedback surveys and provide summaries to leadership.
  • Manage welcome/exit communications and track dues payments.
  • Develop training calendars for volunteers and alumnae.
  • Support special projects and events; interact with volunteers.

General Summary:

The Coordinator of Programming & Membership Engagement provides administrative, program development, and training support pertaining to programming activities and initiatives of Theta Phi Alpha. Additionally, the role supports the volunteer management process as well as membership retention and recognition.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Programming
  • Assist in establishing timelines and schedules pertaining to all annual educational programs (i.e. Theta Phi Day of Service, Officer Leadership Training, and other educational programming).
  • Develop curriculum for annual educational programs (i.e. Theta Phi Day of Service, Officer Leadership Training, Collegiate Leadership Catalyst, and other educational programming).
  • Provide logistical and training support for volunteers, speakers, coordinators, and facilitators.
  • Ensure that educational materials are current and properly distributed.
  • Assist in selecting potential volunteers to facilitate educational programs.
  • Serve as on-site coordinator (as necessary) for educational programs.
  • Work with Director of Communications to properly market events and provide information before, during, and after each event.
  • Develop chapter specific programs to meet the needs of Chapter Officers and Members at the collegiate level.
  • Manage program feedback survey and provide executive summaries to the Executive Director, Director level staff, and National Officers as necessary.
Membership Engagement
  • Manage National Officer welcome and exit communication, tracking data for both.
  • Maintain and update the job descriptions for volunteer positions within the organization.
  • Develop a comprehensive, year-round, training calendar for volunteers and alumnae of the organizations that is innovative and creative in its outreach and delivery.
  • Manage National Volunteer Appreciation Week and anniversary recognition projects.
  • Track and report on dues payments.
  • Develop and maintain processes around the transition from collegian to alumnae phases of membership.
  • Support special projects and events as needed.
  • Interact with elected and appointed volunteers.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Possess knowledge of Greek-lettered organizations including operations and current issues;
  • Strong PC proficiency and MS Office Skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to manage time efficiently in order to complete tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to handle and keep sensitive and confidential information;
  • Ability to work with multiple National Officers and volunteers;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage multiple tasks;
  • Ability to travel as needed for educational events;
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to diverse groups and people.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Member of Theta Phi Alpha or another National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) member sorority;
  • Advanced training in curriculum design or educational program design and implementation;
  • Experience working with Articulate software;
  • Served as a leader at the collegiate level or as a Leadership Consultant of a fraternal organization.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
  • Intermittent physical activity including walking, stair climbing, prolonged sitting, lifting of office supplies, shipping materials, etc.
  • May be exposed to minor injuries such as paper cuts.
  • May be expected to work evening and/or additional hours as needed.
  • Remote work will be considered for this position for an ideal candidate who has demonstrated professional experience.

Starting Salary radge: $45,000-47,500
