Job Description:

The Coordinator for Living Learning Communities (LLCs) will work tosupport the unit and aid in the complete process of theliving-learning recruitment cycle and placement. This role willalso collaborate with academic units, faculty advisors, and studentsuccess services to provide a robust, integrated living-learningexperience within the residence halls. The Coordinator for LLCswill manage campus-wide events and engagement opportunities forliving-learning community and theme housing, in line with thestudent success and residential engagement model framework.Additionally, this position will support LLC outreach effortsthrough initiatives such as Bobcat preview days and varioustimeline communications and reminders. This position will report tothe Assistant Director for Living Learning Communities in theResidential Experience unit within the Department of Housing andResidential Life at Texas State University.

Job Duties:

LLC Recruitment and Management

• Support the complete process of a living-learning communitycycle, including recruitment, placement, and first-year courseregistration.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and the Housing AssignmentsCoordinator to ensure accurate bed counts and LLC spaces.
• Advise the Living Learning Communities Activities Board and allprogrammatic initiatives.
• Endorse and track student completion of the living learningcommunity medallion program.
• Collaborate with academic colleges and schools to achieveintended outcomes of the program and the university
• Coordinate individual co-curricular and community developmentexperiences with each community's faculty and staff team.

Community Engagement Initiatives

• Collaborate with in-community staff for in-person activities,systematic follow-up, and student support.
• Identify student needs and create strategic large-scaleprograms to engage LLC/TC students that provide a sense ofmattering and belonging.
• Interpret student engagement data to evaluate communityengagement initiatives from an operational and student experienceperspective.
• Support the development of an on-campus returning student modelas it relates to community engagement.

Unit Administration

• Respond to emails and calls from residents, potential students,faculty, and staff regarding living learning committee and themehousing options.
• Assess programs and initiatives to ensure the event optimallyachieves goals and success indicators.
• Collaborate with Communications team for marketing and socialmedia presence.
• Coordinate with department staff to align engagement data withpersistence, academic, and development data.

Departmental and Divisional Partnerships

• Collaborate with Student Learning Assistance Center and LLCstudent leaders to promote supplemental instruction, tutoring,writing services, and other academic support to learning communitystudents.
• Assist with student staff recruitment, developing training andongoing development sessions for paraprofessional staff,professional staff, and faculty related to the LLCs.
• Collaborate with other Division of Student Success departmentsto support division and university-wide strategic priorities.
• Contribute to and actively participate in strategic planning,department goal setting, data/assessment efforts, and determiningcommunity staffing priorities and initiatives.
• Other duties as requested.
