About This Job

The Coordinator I, Accounts Payable is responsible for working with CarMax stores, external partners, customers, and other internal partners to execute a variety of compliance-related tasks in support of the Accounts Payable team. The responsibilities are cross-functional across multiple desks and include supporting the unclaimed property process, executing vendor resale certificates, and supporting audits by retrieving documentation. A successful Coordinator I must demonstrate teamwork, a drive for high-quality work, and excellent customer service.

What You Will Do – Essential Responsibilities
  • Support unclaimed property processes by researching return checks and assisting with related correspondence.
  • Communicate with vendors/customers to update addresses or perform skip tracing.
  • Research returned mail daily and handle administrative duties.
  • Request vendor resale certificates regularly.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Participate in assigned projects.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of business-related experience.
  • Experience with basic accounting and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
  • Experience with cloud ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) is a plus.
