Job summary

OBR Management is seeking a Cooling Tower Technician for the Southeast Region to assist with construction, erection, installation, fabrication, and repairs of cooling towers. Travel may be extensive depending on project location and duration.

The role requires reading blueprints, assembling mechanical components, and working safely under supervision. OSHA 10 certification is preferred; must have a valid license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License/ID and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred; safety-focused work experience.

Responsibilities

• Always work safely and follow safe procedures; stop work if unsafe.
• Assist with installation of motors, fans, gear boxes, drive shafts and supports.
• Read blueprints and liaise with Foreman for direction.
• Assist with selecting lumber and other materials for the job.
• Prepare layout using rulers, tape measures, framing square, and calipers.
• Mark cuts and assembly lines on materials.
• Shape materials to prescribed measurements with saws and chisels.
• Assist with piping/nozzle installation and framework erection.
• Support additional tasks as directed by supervision; work at heights with tie-off.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent, Field and Area Managers.
