COOK - TEMPORARY POSITION

SpaceX is seeking passionate, experienced individuals to join our culinary team. The role involves food preparation, setup, and operation of a station at one of our various food outlets, following leadership’s specifications. The Cook supports SpaceX’s success by providing quality food options that boost morale and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete daily prep tasks
• Ensure consistency and compliance with recipes regarding portioning, cooking, and waste control
• Provide courteous and informative customer service in an “open kitchen” format
• Follow guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance, and cleaning requirements
• Maintain a clean and safe work station

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a temporary position for the specified duration and is subject to change based on business needs.

• Length of position: 3 months (with potential for permanent hire based on performance and business needs)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of experience in the food service industry

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High-volume experience
• Experience with a daily changing menu
• Possession of or willingness to obtain a food handler's card or equivalent
• High level of professionalism
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to carry large, heavy items (up to 25 lbs.) unassisted
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day
• Availability for all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
• Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting
• Eligibility to work according to U.S. Government export regulations (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
