Job summary

Apple Rehab Clipper in Westerly, RI is hiring a Cook Supervisor to lead the dietary team and ensure meals meet residents' diet orders. You will supervise dietary aides, assist with production planning, and help with purchasing and storage of food and equipment.

You must be able to read, write and perform basic math, supervise others, and remain calm in busy times. Serv Safe Manager certification is preferred; training available. Prior hospital or long-term care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Serv Safe Manager certification preferred or training available.
• Must be able to unload and stock groceries and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write and understand English, perform simple math calculations.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.
• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
• Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.
• Composure in stressful situations.
• Positive attitude toward residents and their support networks.

Responsibilities

• Supervises dietary department personnel as required.
• Prepares and serves meals per residents' diet orders.
• Assists with production planning by forecasting needs and developing recipes.
• Assists with purchase and storage of food and equipment.
• Ensures a quality, aesthetically pleasing product within budgetary guidelines.
• Responds to residents' requests on short notice.
• Helps plan and prepare for facility events.
