Apple Rehab Colchester is seeking a per diem Cook Supervisor to oversee dietary staff and ensure meals meet resident dietary orders. Responsibilities include supervising aides, aiding with planning, and maintaining quality within budget.

Experience in hospital or long-term care settings is preferred. The role involves preparing and serving aesthetically pleasing meals, coordinating with the Dietary Manager, and responding to residents' requests on short notice while supporting special events at

Qualifications

• Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification.
• Able to unload and stock groceries and lift up to 50 lbs.
• English reading/writing and basic math required.
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dietary department staff and monitor adherence to policies.
• Contribute to performance evaluations when the Dietary Manager is unavailable.
• Prepare and serve meals according to resident diet orders.
• Assist with production planning, forecasting needs, and recipe development.
• Assist with purchase and storage of food and equipment.
• Ensure department output is high quality and within budget.
• Utilize kitchen equipment and adapt to residents’ needs; respond to requests promptly.
• Assist with planning for facility events.
