Job summary

MONROEVILLE IN is seeking a Cook (Food Services) to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, prepare and portion meals, and assist with serving residents. The role requires the ability to follow menus and dietary guidelines, and to work well with staff across departments.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience. A ServSafe certificate is required, and lifting up to 50 pounds is anticipated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of cook experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and procedures.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Good physical stamina; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals and follow prepared menus and portion controls.
• Record food temperatures and prepare special diets.
• Assist with serving meals and coordinate with staff.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
