Job summary

BROADWAY MANOR in Milton, PA is seeking a part-time Cook to join our team. The Cook will assist with meal preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and support the dietary department in menu planning and catering activities.

Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, monitoring inventory, and assisting in training new staff. Prior kitchen experience and knowledge of food safety practices are preferred.

Job Summary:

The Cook will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and supporting the dietary department in menu planning and catering activities.

Duties:

• Assist in meal preparation and cook meals following designated recipes and portion sizes.
• Handle food in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Support the dietary department in menu planning.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
• Adhere to proper food handling techniques
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to ensure a consistent flow of necessary ingredients.
• Assist in training new kitchen staff and educating them on proper kitchen practices.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the kitchen operations.
• Assist in other duties related to food service as needed.

Experience:

• Prior experience in a kitchen setting or similar role preferred.
• Familiarity with food safety guidelines and practices.
• Knowledge of menu planning is a plus.
• Experience in assisting with catering activities is beneficial.
