Job summary

Newport Meadows & Rehabilitation Center in Christiana, PA is seeking an Assistant Cook to provide nutritious meals to residents with 1st & 2nd shifts available; every other weekend is required. Join a team dedicated to patient-centered care and quality service in a caring facility.

Ideal candidates will have line-cook experience and strong customer service skills, with good time management and multitasking abilities.

Qualifications

• Prior line-cook experience is essential.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred, but training will be provided.
• Excellent customer service skills and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Good time management and ability to multitask in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Prepare meals following planned menus and make only authorized food substitutes.
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menu.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that correct diet is served to residents.
• Assist in establishing service production lines to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Assumes responsibility for tray line and serves on tray line as necessary.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.

Job Type: Part Time/Full Time

Schedule: 1st & 2nd Shifts available

every other weekend required

The most successful candidate for this position:

• Has prior line-cook experience

• Previously worked in a healthcare setting (preferred, but we will train the right people!)
