Position Summary:

The Cook works directly with the Culinary Service Director and plays an integral role in planning and delivering an outstanding dining experience for our residents and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain inventory and work with the Culinary Services Director to order supplies as needed.
2. Prepare appetizing meals according to Maplewood standards.
3. Clean and maintain food service areas.
4. Engage with staff, residents, and guests to ensure high satisfaction levels.
5. Lead kitchen staff to maintain a positive working environment with a strong focus on teamwork.

Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:

• Serve Safe Certification required.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food preparation.
• Understanding of cooking times and temperatures in accordance with state guidelines.
• Knowledge of various cuts of meat and seasonings.
• Proficiency in a wide range of food preparation skills.
• Experience working with seniors and understanding their dietary needs is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
