Job summary

Volare Health LLC's Corvallis Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare meals meeting resident diets and safety standards. You will work under the Dietary Services Manager to ensure quality, taste, and sanitation while serving residents with care and respect.

Responsibilities include preparing and portioning meals, sanitizing work areas, checking trays for accuracy, and assisting in inventory and storage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Handler's permit / ServSafe certification as per State requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to relate positively and cooperatively with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portions and temperatures.
• Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, floors, dishes and utensils.
• Check trays for menu and diet accuracy; store foods and supplies properly; follow sanitary and safety policies.
• Work in a non-temperature regulated environment near ovens, stoves, and walk-in refrigerators/freezers.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies and report hazards or incidents.

Summary:

The Cook is responsible to prepare food in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager.

Pay:

$21.91 - $28.13/hr DOE

Job Functions

• Prepare and serve food and meals food in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
• Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment (work near ovens, stoves, enter walk in refrigerators/freezers).
• Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents.
