Job summary

Hillside Heights Rehabilitation Center in Oregon is seeking a Cook to prepare meals meeting residents' dietary needs under the Dietary Services Manager. This PRN position offers mornings shifts, with hours varying including weekends and holidays, at $21.91 per hour plus overtime depending on experience.

The Cook will follow prescribed diet specifications, ensure sanitary procedures, and collaborate with the dietary team to maintain menu accuracy and food quality in a non-temperature controlled

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Handler's permit / ServSafe certification as per State requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to relate positively and work cooperatively with residents, families and other associates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portions, and temperature procedures.
• Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Check trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to sanitary and safety policies.
• Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment near ovens, stoves, and walk-in refrigerators/freezers.

Summary

The Cook is responsible to prepare food in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager.

Job Functions

• Prepare and serve food and meals food in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
• Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment (work near ovens, stoves, enter walk in refrigerators/freezers).
• Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents.
