Job summary

Baptist Health La Grange is seeking a Cook II Food Services for full-time day shifts. The role prepares food for the cafeteria, catering, chef stations, and patient tray lines, following menu, recipes, and portion controls while upholding Baptist Health culinary standards and quality.

You will maintain food safety, FIFO labeling, operate kitchen equipment, mentor junior staff, and provide relief for other cooks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year Culinary Degree preferred.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• ServeSafe or local Health Department certification within 9 months of hire; Rouxbe course within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Produces and prepares food for cafeteria, catering, chef stations, and patient tray line/room service programs.
• Adheres to menus, recipes, portions, and Baptist Health culinary standards.
• Maintains proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards.
• Ensures labeling, dating, and FIFO rotation for all items.
• Operates kitchen equipment and assists/mentors other culinary staff.
• Provides relief for other cook positions as needed.
