Job summary

Baptist Health La Grange is seeking a Cook II Food Services for full-time day shifts. The role prepares food for the cafeteria, catering, chef stations, and patient tray lines, following menu, recipes, and portion controls while upholding Baptist Health culinary standards and quality.

You will maintain food safety, FIFO labeling, operate kitchen equipment, mentor junior staff, and provide relief for other cooks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year Culinary Degree preferred.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• ServeSafe or local Health Department certification within 9 months of hire; Rouxbe course within 12 months.

Job Summary:

Produces and prepares food for cafeteria, catering, chef stations, and patient tray line/room service
programs according to menus, recipes and portions appropriately adhering to Baptist Health brand culinarystandards. Produces quality food in assigned areas along with patient tray line and or room service, a high paced atmosphere. Meets the standard of food delivery within 15 minutes of the order. Maintains properfood handling, safety and sanitation standards while preparing, serving, and cleaning up food. Ensuresproper label and dating standards are followed along with understanding and following food rotationmethods like (FIFO) first in - first out. Ensures quality and visual presentation of food in all areas. Must beknowledgeable and possess ability to operate applicable kitchen equipment with working knowledge offood items. Assists/Mentors other culinary staff to ensure all kitchen duties are completed within given timeconstraints. Assists in other areas of the operation, as needed. Strong cooking and knife skills required.Cook II is responsible for learning and developing skills for safe, efficient, and high-quality food productionand service. Provides relief for all other cook positions.

Requirements:
