Job summary

Qualifications

• 6 months of food preparation work required.
• 6 months experience cooking in a health care food service operation preferred.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must pass background checks and drug screen as required.

Responsibilities

• Attends regular shifts and may work variable schedules.
• Prepares, seasons, cooks and assembles food for regular and modified diets following doctors' orders and menus.
• Operates and maintains food service equipment safely and efficiently.
• Calculates food quantities using standardized menus to meet dietary needs.
• Distributes food to designated areas and assists in service and sanitation procedures.
• Trains and guides others in food preparation and safety practices.
