Job summary

Starwood Hotels is seeking a Cook I to join our kitchen team in Austin. You will prepare dishes per recipes, uphold quality and sanitation standards, and work closely with the Sous and Executive Chefs to ensure smooth service.

A $500 sign-on bonus is available, payable after 90 days of continuous employment. Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with menu updates, dining room readiness, and supporting team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Organized and able to multitask effectively.
• Minimum 1 year of related cooking/food service experience.
• Reliable team player willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Food handling certification (can be obtained during employment).

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to recipe specifications and support daily culinary operations.
• Maintain high quality ingredients and uphold restaurant standards during busy periods.
• Communicate daily with Sous Chef and Executive Chef about status and dietary restrictions.
• Assist with maintaining logs, cleanliness, and compliance with safety policies.
