Starwood Hotels is seeking a Cook I in Austin to prepare dishes according to recipes and uphold high standards during peak times. You will work closely with the Sous Chef and other kitchen staff, ensuring quality, portion control, and sanitary conditions while supporting menu development and daily prep activities.

The position is full-time, on-site in a fast-paced hotel kitchen, with opportunities to grow and obtain a Food Handling certification during employment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to multitask and stay organized.
• Reliable team player open to learning and adapting.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
• Food Handling certification (can be obtained during employment).

Responsabilités

• Prepare food according to recipe specifications.
• Maintain high kitchen standards during busy periods.
• Communicate with Sous Chefs and Executive Chef on status and guest needs.
• Ensure sanitary kitchen conditions and proper storage of ingredients.
• Log daily, weekly and monthly kitchen tasks and inspections.
• Support with updating recipe books and plating for consistent portions.
