Job summary

Bluestar Resort & Golf is seeking a Cook 1 to join the Food & Beverage Team. The role involves food preparation, cooking, and serving under the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.

This full-time hourly position requires a minimum of one year cooking experience in a commercial kitchen with a focus on guest satisfaction and safety. The candidate should have a High School diploma, a valid Food Handlers card, and be able to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Current Food Handlers card.
• Ability to read and interpret safety, operating and maintenance documents.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and exercise sound judgment.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Work and master one kitchen station; take responsibility for decisions and actions.
• Ensure superior standards of service for guests and employees.
• Proactively exceed guest satisfaction and address challenges promptly.
• Follow daily cleaning schedule and maintain sanitary environment.
• Read and apply cooking instructions; know various cooking techniques.
• Prepare vegetables and fruits; wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients.
