Job summary

The University of Arizona in Tucson is hiring a Cook I to prepare, season and cook a wide variety of foods for campus units. This role requires knowledge of basic kitchen equipment and following standardized recipes.

You will work evenings and weekends as needed, maintain safety and cleanliness, assist with ordering and food prep, and contribute to a positive dining experience for students and staff. This is an hourly, full-time position with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food on hot or cold production line, adhering to recipes.
• Prepares items from recipes for restaurant on a daily basis.
• Coordinates preparation and ordering with supervisor and staff.
• Performs food prep tasks such as sandwiches, salads and beverages.
• Cleans and processes produce per recipe specifications.
• Labels, dates and stores fruits and vegetables.
